Data and information (information management),(week 1,2)

This session was about ice-breaking session. At first, our lecturer miss khairunnisha gave us a form to fill. The purpose of this activity was to inform about data and information.it was about my personal information which I filled discussing with my friend la from Myanmar. by this activity, I knew about data---------------- DATA --which is an incomplete form and also can be numbers, characters, symbols, pictures or even sound.  --it has no value when it exists in that form before going to be an information                                                 Information: Ø           -Information is data but organized and meaningful. IT and ICT (week 3,4)

IT: IT stands for information technology. It is a computer-based tool to support the information.          Information technology architecture:   A high-level map or plan of the information assets in an organization.   Integrates entire organization’s business needs for information, infrastructure, and applications. Information technology infrastructure:   IT components, IT services, and IT personnel that support an entire organization.   IT components: computer hardware, software, and communications technologies.   IT services: Data management, systems development, and security management. ICT: Information and communications technology or information and communication technology, usually abbreviated as ICT.                                                                                                 

Information system,types,methodology (week 5,6)

There are three main groups of information system TPS, MIS, AND DSS. and another kind of information system is ESS.  There are three levels of information system: 1. Low-level manager(TPS): Recorded for future action, capture and record the data, only cause supervisor, also known as DPS(data processing system), support day to day business system. 2. Middle manager( MIS): A tactical manger which relates with short term plan, a collection of data, people, procedures, database and drives that provides with the information system.It also summarize the data. here TPS works as input and output is MIS. only use middle manger integrated between one department to another department. solve any kind of problem by using 7 steps. deals with the past and present rather than future. example of MIS is sales management system, here included that  the system of our library is integrated management system.    3.  DSS: decision support system, use by tactical manager also middle manger, si

Database( week 7,8)

Database: A collection of interrelated data stored together with controlled redundancy to serve one or more applications in an optimal way. Types of Database Models: •        Hierarchical database •        Network database •        Relational database •        Object-relational database In this week we did an activity to create a database using Microsoft Access.

Web application(week 10,11,12)

Web application: Website is about the whole information and web page is only a kind of page of the website. There is two kind of web page like a static web page and dynamic web page. Static web page: view the details like Google. Dynamic web page: Facebook that interacts with user and web page.                                                      Web application                                                      Web browser: like Google browser and Mozilla.   Client side Server side Internet browser Web server Web application database Web information system: use WWW. exampled and module.it is two types like. informational and transitional. Google application: services provided by Google like. Google  calendar, Google document, Gmail etc                                

Internet (week 9)

Web 2.0: There are six categories but most important three types are social networking, Mashups, aggregators. Example of social networking is youtube and facebook. Mashups mix and match content from other parts of the web, blog lines, Google, and Yahoo is the example of aggregators. web 1.0: we can not post anything web 2.0: we can post, upload, download. web 3.0: the intelligence of web-like artificial intelligence.
