Data and information (information management),(week 1,2)

This session was about ice-breaking session. At first, our lecturer miss khairunnisha gave us a form to fill. The purpose of this activity was to inform about data and information.it was about my personal information which I filled discussing with my friend la from Myanmar. by this activity, I knew about data----------------

DATA

--which is an incomplete form and also can be numbers, characters, symbols, pictures or even sound.
 --it has no value when it exists in that form before going to be an information

                                               Information:

      -Information is data but organized and meaningful.

Ø    -Purpose, meaning and the process can be information.

•       Information management: (IM) is a general term that refers to managing any kind of information.

•       It is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences or people.

-     For this week we did an activity about the problem associated with the information system. Here we put a lot of problem like lack of infrastructure, lack of training, financial problem, direct competition between information management system no clear strategic direction for the overall technology environment etc. and also we presented it. Our teacher asked some question. Like, give some example of IM. We answered like e-commerce, Google, etc.
